Veteran's Programs for Gambling Help
Bristlecone works together with VA Sierra Nevada Healthcare, more specifically, the Healthcare for Homeless Veterans (HCHV) program to provide services needed by those who served our great nation.

Contract Emergency Residential Services (CERS)
This program offers residential treatment for honorably discharged veterans. Eligibility for this program is determined by HCHV. For more information and eligibility requirements call us at 775-954-1400 during business hours and ask for our veteran’s administrator. The treatment runs in concert with our SUD residential and Problem Gambling residential programs with one difference. In CERS, veterans not only focus on recovery from substance use, mental health, and or problem gambling issues they begin to tackle homelessness and joblessness struggles in a safe supportive environment. Bristlecone employs a veteran specific team of professionals, including case managers, counselors, and peer recovery support staff who prepare these heroes for independent living and connect them to the resources and ancillary programs that will keep them thriving in our community. This program can run up to 90 days or longer with special permission from the VA.

Grant and Per Diem (GPD) Transitional Living
Our GPD program offers honorably discharged and humanitarian veterans a transitional living environment that focuses on independent living, mental health, and addiction issues. Eligibility for this program is determined by HCHV. For more information and eligibility requirements call us at 775-954-1400 during business hours and ask for our veteran’s administrator. Veterans in GPD focus heavily on safe long-term housing in addition to possible mental health or addiction issues that led to their homelessness. Our staff work with state and local officials along with VA case managers to locate and assist in the housing process. Disability and medical issues plague many of our veteran clients and the GPD program can provide up to two years of transitional living to address these issues and allow veterans time to resolve life altering circumstances that created barriers to independent living.

HCHV can be reached at 775-324-6600.
VA Sierra Nevada Hospital can be reached at 775-786-7200.
